Shades Of Blue A Colorboard For You

Etsy, the place where creative minds and handmade items collide.  I love that place it’s chock full of creativity and inspiration you can stay there and buy yourself crazy.  Often, when I need a dose of motivation I go there to get a shot of creativity.  I need something to stir the mind.  I wanted to create a colorboard that incorporates a bit of modern design with vintage pieces adding a pop of color.  If and when I design my beach home I want lots of natural design and elements but I want a pop of color.  The color I seem to come back to often is a vintage wash of sea blue.  The prior posts with a bit of my design is here and the lighting design is here so you can see what my style is if you have missed something in between.

The photo below gives you a bit of an idea of how the two style periods can mesh together.  I have never been in the past a true fan of modern design.  I respect it it’s just never been something I have ever tried to incorporate into my living space, but as I’ve matured I want a twist of something different.  What has drawn me to the modern design is the overall clean and crisp lines with little pops of detail.  Let’s take the two chairs below love the color, love the smooth lines and the swerve back details of the chairs  look beautifully paired together.  I am not sure I would place one alone seems you need two to get the full flavor and style of these classic Pinwheel chairs.  The chairs are for sale on Etsy in a set of four in a little shop called EnRoute Studio.  If you noticed I selected these because they were vintage and a had a modern design meaning I thought I could mesh them together with other items I had previously selected that were new and had natural elements I seem to move toward.  I do like a bit of fussy but I am realist and I am going to live in my home not use it as a canvas to just decorate…meaning my feet are going on the sofa, sand will be in my home and it will have more of a relaxed feel.  I am just not the pretty as picture and nonfunctional home type of person.  I love decorating my home but I want to enjoy it as well.
