Curacao beaches, unlike any other

Beaches. They all make that distinct sound. You know, the same one you hear when you close your ears and breath in and out. Nonetheless with your eyes open you can clearly see the variety of different beaches there are out there. This difference can also be seen in Curacao.

Though the island is small, it a has a big amount of beaches. Around 50 to be exact. Unlike most places where you find long outstretched beaches, Curacao has a variety of small ones with rock walls on both sides. All of them have white sand except for two and all of them are calm except for one. That is of course where all the surfers go to ‘catch a wave’, Playa Kanoa.

Most people agree that the most beautiful beach the island has to offer is ‘Kenepa Grandi’. As soon as you arrive there you can look down and see the turquoise water and white sand. Other beaches that will make the top list would be Playa Lagun, Playa Porto Marie and Cas Abao. These beaches are also family friendly. I remember going with my family when I was younger and literally spend a full day playing on the beach. They had to beg me to come and eat something at lunch time.

If you are looking for a beach where you can also get a drink, hear good music and rent chairs, Mambo, Cabana beach, Jan Thiel, Hook’s Hut and Cas Abao are the top options. Mambo is the most well-known of the party beaches because it turns into one of the most popular clubs at night. There is a special night for everything from R&Beach night to Sunset Salsa night.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing day at a beach alone, family fun or a great party Curacao is the place to go. After all it is ‘Real Different’.

I asked Sheedia to do a post for me after reading her blog and finding out she liked a lot of things I did such as art, singing and dancing of which the last two I have no talent in.  She also mentioned cheering for the Lakers I must tell her I am a Mavericks fan and have been cheering against her in the past weeks in the NBA playoffs :).  But, after finding out she was an island girl from Curacao I just had to ask her to go a little more in detail about the beautiful beaches there.  Thank you Sheedia for doing this post I love learning about places I have never been and Curacao is one.  The beaches are gorgeous and it looks like the hospitality is like no other.

@Maya Mambo beach is amazing. I recently went there right before sunset. Though you can’t see the full sunset from there it is nice to see the sky changing colors.
