Yes, it’s time to think about what we are going to wear to the beach, local pool or our own backyards for pool play and style. Most public pools, beach areas and homes start the pool season with Memorial Day. For some of us here in the south our own pools have been open and swimming, pool parties and fun has started already. It’s one of the many gold nuggets of living in the south.
I must say it’s hard to pick beach wear both for style and comfortable fit. I selected places I have ordered from to give some suggestions. I know when it comes to this time of the year I have a love hate relationship with the swimsuit buying. It’s one of those, did I lose enough weight, does the top fit right or how does the bottom look so hopefully this will give you a place to start this week.
Let’s talk beach cover ups. Boston Proper, Land’s End and Victoria Secret all have great beach wear. I wanted to include items that were easy to wear to the beach and a coverup that could easily transition to a local restaurant, errand run or rum bar for a nice refreshing drink. 1st and 2nd groups are all from Land’s End, Nordstrom and Victoria Secret. My favorite is the bright multi colored paisley coverup from Nordstrom by designer Trina Turk. I would pair this with a nice pair of wedges, a straw tote, cool sunglasses and I’m on my way.
On to the swimsuits 3rd photo group are all from Boston Proper I included these because they were one piece sexy and flattering to anyone type of suits. Boston Proper just exudes sexy to me but more for a mature buyer. The 4th photo I included has the sexiest bikinis from Victoria Secret and when I go looking for sexy with a bit of punch bikini I think of them…I am looking not wearing. The 4th photo group also includes the best tankinis around I think. When it comes to this style of swimsuit I don’t think anyone does it better than Land’s End. It’s the whole mix and match thing with a bit of color, variety and you’re able to buy the top and bottom in different sizes. They also include plus sizes and lots of spandex and tummy control. I always rate them number one on my list of swimsuits. It’s my go to place first. The blue tankini is a Oprah magazine pick for summer beach wear.
Target has a great Calypso St. Barth for Target design out for the summer. I did not include photos but you can view them here. There are three lines (1.) Sea Collection (2.) Reef Collection (3.) Shore Collection. Each line has something different and unique about it and all include, fashion, home items and linens. It’s really neat and unique line for Target to carry.
