Oh It’s Canada And It’s Beach Home Heaven

Oh Canada it’s your turn today!  Yes, I am on day 2 of my beach home inspiration week and today we have a beautiful home located in British Columbia.  I have long been a fan of interior designers in Canada.  I believe this obsession started some years ago when HGTV first launched a few design shows with designers based in Canada here in the US.   And by nature, I am a question asking want to know much more type of person, so I started to do a little bit more research on them and their design style.  I started casually following some of them via magazines and design books.  The curiosity continued so, I started subscribing to some Canadian home design magazines and it opened up a whole new world of home design for me.

I could not pick one room I adored anymore than the other.  I just loved everything especially the wood plank ceilings.  Oh my, it lifted the whole house to me.  I thought the clean, crisp flooring coupled with the wood plank ceiling allowed the outside to somewhat flow throughout the whole home.  It gave it more of a free flow feel from one area to the other.  I think the free-flowing was helped by the floor to ceiling windows.  It is all about the views that’s what the windows say to me.  I loved the simple kitchen yet it seem to have most of the things you needed within reach.  My final thoughts on this home I felt the architect wanted views from each space you visited so you were always reminded of why you bought it.

If you missed the 1st beach home it is located here.  The lucky place was New Zealand.

How did I miss this post? OK, so I live in British Columbia, and this place is gorgeous! BC has pretty mild temperatures. It rarely goes below 0 degrees Celsius, which is about 32 degrees Fahrenheit (yes, I googled it! :)) So I don’t think heating costs would really be that bad. However housing costs in BC are crazy, expensive…so if you can even afford this place you wouldn’t have a care in the world how much it cost to heat it! LOL!!!

Thank you Cynthia for featuring my beautiful province!

Gorgeous! I wonder the same thing about heat- is this strictly a summer home? If not their bills must be astronomical! Love the ceilings 🙂

I loved the whole idea but I was kinda thinking it might be a bit hard to keep it warm. I don’t know maybe we have some canadian readers to tell us more about that area of Canada.

Oh yum!

I seriously swear (ok no swearing) – I have never seen a ceiling more beautiful.

I thought I loved white high pitched roof lines – now I have seen this one.

I love the white walls with it too – it is divine.

I could imagine the glass would be very thick for such a cold climate though – hard to keep warm with such high ceilings and so much glass in a very cold climate.

Lovely photos
