Modern + Vintage = [Design File Thursday]

— Aina: “Our hotel is a mixture of the old and the modern. It is comfortable, simple, austere and elegant.”

Another one of my cruises around the internet and I found this lovely little hotel and spa located in Severa, Majorca, Spain.  It was the design title Farmhouse with a modern twist that piqued my curiosity.  I am a lover of combining the two styles for a more crisp, clean and simple look.  It’s not located on the beach but, is located on a piece of property that is absolutely breathtaking.  It is surrounded by a lush landscape of hills, surrounded by views of the ocean side.  So, the beach is not far away.

A little brief history, the farmhouse was about in ruins until an architect and their vision had different plans.  The home was built in the 18 century.  The Farmhouse has four different styled rooms to choose from, all of them with their own distinct personalities.  The rooms are designed so you feel as if you are home but away.  I think most hotels have a hotel type of feel but this place has a home feel to me.  I think you could easily incorporate some of the room design ideas into your own home.

I just love these rooms. I could just spend all day reading mags and chilling with a little dip in the pool. Night swimming is so much fun!!!! Great post! I shared it with my readers since it relates to my white post yesterday.
