Vintage Sea Wash Blue

2011-09-01 It’s a holiday weekend so I thought I would bring back some of my most popular posts from the archive.  Enjoy!

I open up my design file so we can discuss the color Vintage Sea Wash Blue.  I have mentioned this color more often than any other color on the color wheel.  It’s my favorite.  I have never been a person just in love with the color blue.  It’s just not a color I would just go to.  But, as of late I have gravitated to blue but wanted a more vintage feel something you could pair with a touch of modern and not feel overwhelmed.  Again, I go to my handy-dandy Pinterest account where I collect all of the things I like and love there.  It’s your virtual inspiration board.  I don’t think I can pick out any one item here I like more than the others.  Some do strike my fancy a little more but I can’t and will not pick out just one!  I have such a flippy personality sometimes…meaning I can’t decide on what to pick.  And that usually happens when I want them all.  So, I tried to focus more on what I was really looking for and it’s more of the color palette and the variations of the blue that I was gravitating towards.  Do you have a special color you seem to move to more?

I think I am moving toward this color because I want to be able to open my windows, look out at the beautiful ocean and allow my home style to be an extension of the beautiful colors of the beach.

Cynthia browsing through your site is always a breath of fresh air for me. The colors, patterns and designs you mix always evoke an emotion of getting away or relaxation.

I don’t know if this is by luck or inspired by a muse that guides your talented inspiration, but keep it up. Your talent inspires me!!

This is by far one of my favourite colours. It’s just so soothing and only brings up happy thoughts of seaside and relaxation. I’d love a typewriter in that shade! 🙂

Gorgeous colors…. I love the palette you’ve created! I saw that color every day while I was in Cancun! The waters there are Caribbean, and because the sand is mostly coral, the water stays looking blue… almost a blue-green at times… and it’s stunning!!!! I thought of you when I saw the beach. Gorgeous!!!

What is the picture on the top right of your posting today? It looks like bubbles… I love it!!
