Fair Trade Beach Home Decorating Options

2011-09-17  Love finding items made from natural sources, recycled materials or stuff others think has no second life.

It’s rare that you come across items that truly have a handmade feel or not much mass production has been used to make the items.  I found this company while searching the internet and typing in random words.  The name of the company is Nkuku after a village in Zambia.  Most of the items have been inspired from Artisans in Africa and India.

I really love how they have taken natural elements with a vintage twist to make items such as the recycled sari as journals, old wood to make spice boxes and neat little chai tea glasses.  I think any of the items would work well in a lovely old beach cottage.  Ahh, sipping a little tea using the chai glasses, using the lovely spice boxes for a lovely meal and covering ourselves with a natural throw on a cool night at the beach.

What wonderful finds! I love all of them! It’s pretty much the look that speaks to me right now. Those throws look so luxurious, too… perfect now that the weather is cooling off a bit here…. cozy!!
