A Little Sandsculpture Love From Florida

I have always been a fan of creating sandcastles.  I love how they have evolved over the years.  The contest have become a major artsy sculpting event which have made them much more detailed from years ago.  Heck, I remember back in the day it was just buckets and buckets of filled sand somehow put together to get a basic castle built.  But, now it so much more than that.  The contest land winners a little fame, some cash prizes and people from all over the world competing.  The above sculptures are from the 2011 American Sand Sculpting championship in Florida.  Next time you’re at the beach dig in and make a little sculpture.  I bet you have a ton of creativity screaming to show up.

I’ve never made or even seen a sandcastle quite as impressive as these – must start getting a bit more creative with my bucket & spade!

They are wonderful. Such talent some have with mere sand.
There is a contest locally I have yet to see in person since it’s done in the middle of the week.
